Why teams switch
Use UrbanGym's Razorpay checkout flow so members can pay online through UPI, card, or net banking.
Every Razorpay collection is automatically recorded against the member's account — no manual entry, no reconciliation errors.
When a Razorpay payment clears, UrbanGym can generate a member invoice from the paid record inside the gym billing workflow.
Razorpay has become the default payment gateway for Indian businesses because it supports the full range of payment methods Indian customers use: UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), debit cards, credit cards, and net banking — all in one checkout. For gyms, this means members can pay their membership fees online without the gym owner needing to manage a physical card terminal or send manual bank account details for each transaction.
The integration works through Razorpay's API and webhook system. When a gym enables the Razorpay integration in UrbanGym Settings, they connect their Razorpay merchant account using API keys. From that point, UrbanGym can initiate a payment request for a specific member and amount, display the Razorpay checkout, and automatically receive a webhook notification when the payment succeeds — recording it against the correct member account without any manual staff action.
The reconciliation problem is one of the most time-consuming admin tasks for gym owners who collect payments through multiple channels. Razorpay payments that are not automatically recorded must be manually matched to the right member — a process that takes minutes per transaction and introduces errors when done at the end of a busy day. UrbanGym eliminates this by recording each Razorpay collection at the webhook level, linked to the correct member and payment record before staff even check the dashboard.
Most Indian gyms do not collect 100% of payments through Razorpay. Many members prefer paying cash at the desk, transferring directly via UPI, or doing a bank transfer for long-term memberships. UrbanGym tracks all of these alongside Razorpay collections in a unified dues dashboard. Owners can see total collected for the day, week, or month across all payment methods — not just the Razorpay portal, which only shows one part of the revenue picture.
When a Razorpay payment is verified by webhook, UrbanGym records the collection and can generate a GST-compliant member invoice from the same transaction. This means members who pay online receive an accurate, formatted invoice that includes their membership details, the GSTIN, SGST, CGST, and the exact amount collected through the gateway — without staff needing to create a separate invoice document after the payment clears.
Connect the daily front-desk work with owner-level reporting, so growth is easier to measure and manage.
